@Imran sir
while installing and opening cursor app for the first time , I had selected vs code instead of sublime text. But while watching the pre requisite videeos I came to know that U had selected Sublime text. Now how to edit that? pls help
Hi @NikhilSR ,
During Cursor installation, choosing VS Code or Sublime Text is not permanent and does not affect Cursor’s functionality.
It only installs some recommended extensions.
So even if you selected VS Code, there is no problem at all.
Cursor will still work exactly the same.
If you still want to change the preference
You can optionally update it later:
- Open Cursor
- Click the Settings icon (top-right)
- Search for: default editor / external editor
- Change it from VS Code → Sublime Text
cant find default editor/external editor settings.
Hi @NikhilSR ,
In the latest version of Cursor, the “Default Editor / External Editor” option is no longer shown in Settings. The choice you made during installation (VS Code or Sublime) does not affect how Cursor works, so there is nothing you need to change. Cursor will function the same regardless of what you selected initially
